Dr Daniel Eddisford (University of Durham)
Director
Daniel has an established international reputation for delivering a range of heritage projects including large-scale landscape survey, buildings recording, deeply stratified archaeological excavations, and advice on museum interpretation of archaeological remains. He has been employed in the heritage sector for over 20 years, working extensively in the UK, Turkey, the Middle East, and Arabia. He specializes in the history and archaeology of the Middle East and has a PhD from Durham University. -
Freya Sadarangani
Senior Heritage Consultant
Over her 22-year career in the heritage sector, Freya has worked in the heritage sector in KSA, UK, Egypt, Turkey and Iceland. She is experienced in archaeology and cultural heritage assessments and managing archaeological projects, including fieldwork design, directing fieldwork, monitoring and post-excavation. She has experience of coordinating and communicating with a range of stakeholders at an international level. She has worked extensively in KSA and currently manages our HIA projects. -
Tom Collie
Heritage Consultant
Tom has a strong archaeological background and over the last 20 years has worked extensively on international projects, including the UNESCO World Heritage site of Al Zubarah in Qatar, Sidon in Lebanon, and excavation and survey projects in AlUla, KSA. Alongside his expert area knowledge, he brings a range of project management, site survey, and photogrammetry skills to the team.

Benjamin Fabre
Project Lead
Benjamin is an archaeologist and cultural heritage expert with over 15 years experience in Cultural Tourism, Historic Preservation and International Development. He started his career surveying the Konya plain for neolithic remains in 2001 and has since worked in Cameroon, France, Madagascar, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Turkey and the United States. His projects include designing touristic frameworks for large heritage sites (including UNESCO World Heritage) as well as providing technical assistance to community-driven heritage building projects. Benjamin has vast experience in coordinating and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders at the international level. -
Dr Despoina Sampatakou (University of York)
Heritage Consultant
Despoina has a PhD from the University of York in Digital Archaeology that explored digital storytelling in archaeology. Her first MA is in Archaeology, Architecture and Heritage Management with a focus on the use of AR for the recreation of ancient landscapes, and her MRes in Archaeology and Classics focused on storytelling and osteobiography. Her research is concerned with the use and evaluation of digital media and storytelling for communicating archaeological research to the public, as well as on ethics around the handling of human remains and the decolonisation of cryptocolonised heritage.

Dr Kate Ayres-Kennet (University of Durham, University of Hertfordshire )
Heritage Consultant (Museums)
Kate is a museum practitioner with over 16 years experience directing museums in the UK and the Middle East. She has extensive experience of project management, collections management, heritage interpretation, and strategic development. She has just completed a Professional Doctorate in Heritage at the University of Hertfordshire and currently lectures at Durham University on Museum Studies and Heritage Management. -
Roddy Regan
Senior Archaeologist
With over 30 years of experience in archaeology Roddy has a wide range of international experience of archaeological excavation, survey, post-excavation and publication. He also has directed community heritage projects and field schools that trained students, volunteers and heritage professionals. -
Cordelia Hall
Senior Surveyor and Archaeologist
Cordelia is a qualified Land Surveyor who undertakes a range of topographic surveys, contour surveys and standing building recording using total stations, DGPS, 3D laser scanners, drones and photogrammetry. She has over 20 years of archaeological experience and has worked extensively in Arabia. -
Dr Michel de Vreeze (University of Durham)
Heritage Consultant (Archaeology)
An expert on the archaeology of Arabian and the eastern Mediterranean Michel has worked extensively in the region. He has a wide range of experience of archaeological investigations, heritage planning and material studies. Michel has a PhD from the University of Durham and is a specialist in prehistoric archaeology and ceramics. -
Florian Kirschner
Project Archaeologist
Florian studied cultural history and archaeology of Northeast Africa at the Humboldt University in Berlin. He is an archaeologist with a decade of experience in international archaeological projects. Starting in Germany, he moved on to work in Sudan and Egypt. The focus of his research work lies in the archaeology of ancient settlements in Egypt and Sudan. He has undertaken the IDIHA survey in Al Ula, Saudi Arabia, and excavation work at sites in northern Qatar. -
Ben Sharp
Project Archaeologist
With over 10 years of experience in the heritage sector, Ben has worked as an archaeologist on commercial and research projects in the UK, KSA, Iraq, Qatar, Jordan, and Abu Dhabi. This experience has provided him with extensive knowledge of the heritage of the Middle East. He excels in managing projects, leading fieldwork teams, and producing high-quality reports and publications.

Julius James Ogutu
Project Archaeologist
Julius is an archaeologist with over a decade of experience working with international projects in Africa (Tanzania, Morroco and Sudan), Europe (Spain) and Arabia (Qatar, UAE). He completed his Master on the Archaeology of the Arab and Islamic World at University College London. Currently he is a PhD candidate at the Complutense University of Madrid, his research work focuses on the Lower Pleistocene Archaeology of East Africa.

Sam Botan (University of Leiden)
Ceramic Specialist (Prehistoric)
Sam is a ceramics specialist with many years of international fieldwork experience. His areas of specialism include the Bronze and Iron Age. Sam is a PhD candidate at the University of Leiden, his thesis focuses on Aksumite ceramic finds from the Horn of Africa, Oman and India.
